
Marvel Gaming Secrets Revealed: Insomniac's Data Leak Unveils Sony's Grand Plans
Sony-owned Insomniac Games has suffered a cybersecurity breach, with more than 1.3 million files compromised by the Rhysida ransomware group, as reported by Bloomberg News. The leaked files contain sensitive information, including game roadmaps, budgets, and details about the upcoming "Wolverine" title.

According to leaked documents, Sony has ambitious plans for Marvel-inspired games in the next decade. Upcoming releases include "Spider-Man 3," as well as titles based on popular characters like Venom and the X-Men. The licensing deal between Insomniac and Marvel for the development and marketing of X-Men games is worth up to $621 million, extending through 2035.
The Rhysida ransomware group, responsible for the hack, initially announced its intentions on December 12, stating its plan to auction the data for around $2 million in bitcoin. However, the group decided to release the data on Tuesday.

The incident highlights the growing threats facing the gaming industry in terms of cyber security. It follows a trend, with a notable breach last year when early footage of Take-Two Interactive Software's "Grand Theft Auto VI" leaked online, one of the largest gaming-related data breaches in history. One was targeted.
Sony has not yet responded to requests for comment on the situation. The gaming industry continues to face the challenges of protecting sensitive information in the face of evolving cyber threats.
