OnePlus has quietly introduced new AI-powered features through a recent ColorOS update in China, adding innovative capabilities to its OnePlus 12 and 11 models.

The update, rolled out specifically for the Chinese market, brings significant enhancements. For the OnePlus 11, the firmware version is PHB110_14.0.0.403(CN01), while for the OnePlus 12, it is PJD110_14.0.0.405(CN01).

While not as extensive as Samsung's AI offerings, OnePlus' update introduces three new generative AI features.

Firstly, the AI Summarizer generates summaries of phone calls, capturing key information such as time, location, and other relevant details.

Additionally, the AIGC Remover feature acts as an image editor, allowing users to erase unwanted elements from their photos, akin to AI photo editing features found on Samsung and Google Pixel devices.

Furthermore, OnePlus offers an Article Summarizer function, enabling quick summaries of articles with a single tap.

Beyond AI, the update brings further improvements, including the ability to unlock the phone with the fingerprint scanner without waking the screen. Users can now control QQ Music on Always-On Display, with options to display the screen recording indicator in the status bar or a floating window.

The update for OnePlus 12 also enhances Bluetooth, NFC, and WLAN network stability and compatibility, addressing issues with network signals in subway-like conditions.

It's important to note that these AI features are currently exclusive to the Chinese version of ColorOS. However, given that ColorOS shares similarities with OxygenOS used globally, there's potential for these features to be rolled out to global OnePlus 12 and 11 models in the future.
